Joseph David Giles, III

Joseph David Giles III, known to many as "Joe" passed away on April 26, 2026, at the age of 77. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Joe was born in Houston, Texas, to Joseph D. Giles Jr. and Lucille Fraley Jackson. He graduated from South Garland High School in 1967, where he played center on the football team. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, working in support of the National Security Agency.

Joe was a hardworking and dedicated man who built a successful business, Drive Train of Mesquite, which continues to serve the community today. He took great pride in his work and in the life he built through perseverance and determination.

On a blind date at Waffle House, Joe met Becky. They shared 43 years of marriage through thick and thin, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health. Over the past eight year, as his health declined, Becky remained faithfully by his side, caring for him with unwavering strengh.

Joe was a man of quiet thoughtfulness, strong character, and deep love for God and his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca "Becky" Giles of Rockwall, Texas; his children, Joseph Nathaniel Giles (April) of Terrell, Texas; James Bradley Aston (Laura) of Terrell, Texas; Michael Brent Aston (Sharon) of Dallas, Texas; and Brandi Aston Keezel of Mesquite, Texas.

He was a proud Papa to Caitlin, Averi, and Matthew Giles; Wade and Cassie Aston; and Chance Keezel.

Joe is also survived by his brother, Dean Ray Giles (Maura) of Midlothian, Texas; and his sisters, Denise Giles Sweeny (Mike) of Ruidoso, New Mexico; Beverly Giles Ibison (Steve) of Wesley Chapel, Florida; Karen Giles Sevener (Shane) of Alvarado, Texas; and Laura Giles Pate (Brant) of Keller, Texas; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, William Jackson. Joe will be remembered as a godly man, loving husband, father, papa, brother, and friend. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply and the many lives he touched.

Condolences
