Brother....it's hard to believe that you are gone. I will never forget the day that I first met you. I had to attend a meeting about the CRASH program that me, you and some others were about to get into. You asked me how many years "policing" that I had and I told you about 21. I asked you how many you had and your reply was, "This is only my 3rd day". We became friends immediately and you told me your name was Dane, but you preferred to be addressed as "Asshole". Pretty shocked I was by the nickname!! I asked Curtis (Braziel) and some others about it/you, and they laughed and told me that I would learn to love you. Dane, they were right. We spent some good times together and I always valued you for a true and unwavering friend. So now, Asshole, I bet God is laughing and shaking his head saying, "It's going to be an eternity with this man", and I know He is going to enjoy it. Brother, I hate losing you on the face of this Earth, but I also know that you are no longer in any type of pain and you are "policing" the streets of Heaven. God took you because he needed you and that cannot be argued with by anybody. Asshole, you sleep easy in God's arms and know that you will NEVER be forgotten. I will see you again, my Friend.
